The ground does need a drastic upgrade. Having said that, we were sat in the away end, in a reasonable stand that you can’t help thinking that the rest of the ground could do with being like. Reilly had already set his heart on a Burger before we got there. Got in the ground, went to get something to eat, no Burgers or Chips (2nd choice). I had a meat and potato pie and Reilly said he would have a sausage roll after much convincing, I also had a Bovril. Went to sit down to eat and Reilly didn’t like the “red” sausage, so I had both. I went to a steward to see if the aforementioned items were available anywhere else in the ground, to which he didn’t know. Not a problem with that, just as a member of the club catering staff was walking past, the steward raised the question with them. The really kind lady explained that nowhere in the ground were Burgers or Chips available. However, she did look at my sad 5yr old and offered to fetch a Chip butty and not to mention anything to anyone about it, or they would all want one. To me this was an “above and beyond” act of kindness and made me see past the rough state of the ground and think in a different way about my experience. Well done Macclesfield!!! The game was drab and Notts ended up getting a panalty to win the game, made the day a lot better.
