A misfiring Southend side were swept aside easily despite fielding future top flight stars Mark Gower and Michael Kightly.  Bootham Crescent is a simple ground, in a leafy suburb of affluent York and only a moderate walk from both the train station and the city centre.  Watch out for the sometimes severe traffic congestion if driving, especially if trying to cross the river.
