This was a long time ago now. I went for a day-return to Blackpool from Bradford where I was staying at the time. It was a lovely Saturday for February. I walked to the ground from Blackpool North station and had a few pints in a bar near the seaside about 10 minutes from the ground. 

Bloomfield Road was by this time a half modern, half antique stadium. The away fans were in the old southern end, which then was situated maybe 15-20 m behind the goal with an open space in between. I was in the modern Stanley Matthews stand on the stadium's seaside. I don't recall much of the game, probably because it ended 0-0. 

Bristol City was to reach the play-offs, while Blackpool ended the season mid-table (14th).
