Game watched: Brentford 3-1 Accrington Stanley

I had been to a conference in London and stayed for Saturday to go to a game. Brentford and Accrington Stanley were two  teams I had not watched before so I decided to head to Griffin Park to get a ticket.

It was a windy day and Stanley took the lead in the first half, but Brentford hit back in the second half, producing three goals without reply. My most vivid memory of the game is from the final minutes when Barnsley are 2-1 up at Anfield in the fifth round of the FA Cup and my neighbour has turned on the radio so we can follow the last minutes.

I was impressed by John Coleman's Accrington Stanley trying to play the ball all the time, something I had not seen teams in the lower leagues do before. At the end of the season, both teams finished below mid-table. Brentford in 14th and AS in 17th place. I think I made it to three of the four pubs around Griffin Park. Defintely remember drinking Fuller's London Pride on that day.
