Game watched: Stevenage 3-1 AFC Wimbledon

Last game of four on the Olympic Tour of 2012 that I did with my daughter. Capital One Cup first round.

We stayed in London and took a day-return to Stevenage where we arrived early. On the way to the ground, there was a Harvester restaurant in a shopping ground where we stayed for a while.

The stadium has to be the lowest in the league. We sat at row H (8th from the ground) in the Main Stand and I don't think there were many rows behind us. This was my first encounter with Luke Freeman, who had just signed for Stevenage for a club record fee. It was Freeman's cross that gave the first goal when a Wimbledon defender turned it into his own net. Stevenage always looked the better side and won comfortably by 3-1. They had just finished what remains their best ever league season, 6th in L1 2011/12, beaten by Sheffield United in the playoff semifinal.

After the match had ended, we had an uneventful walk back to the station to catch the train back to Kings Cross.
