BurnSand visited Boleyn Ground on 08/04/1977

Game watched: West Ham United 2-2 Birmingham City

I've been to Boleyn Ground twice for early Good Friday kickoffs at the time I was still young and promising. This was my second visit. My wife and I were in London for Easter week. We had bought a charter trip and were staying in a hotel close to Queensway station. We took the underground to Upton park and bought tickets at the stadium.

It was a sunny day in East London and people were in good spirits. Billy Jennings and Geoff Pike scored for the Hammers and Joe Gallagher and Trevor Francis were on target for the Blues. Attendance: 28,167.

After the game, I had my sights set on the Valley and somehow we made it down there.
