Game watched: Manchester United 0-0 Chelsea

Second of five games on an August 2013 tour with my daughter and the first of three I have watched at Old Trafford. This was to be a big one, but two overly cautious managers and teams didn't produce much. This was United's first home game of the season and the first with David Moyes at the helm. The previous weekend they had been trashed 4-1 at Swansea. Jose Mourinho had just returned to the Chelsea hot-seat. Kevin de Bruyne made one of three starts for Chelsea.

I had bought hospitality tickets, since at this time it was nearly impossible to get tickets to Old Trafford. 18 months later, I passed the Man Utd shop near Piccadilly with a sign outside saying: Tickets for Burnley on Wednesday.

The cheapest hospitality tickets had dinner AFTER the game. With an 8 pm kickoff, it became late before the dinner had ended. At least, it was too late for the tram to still be in service. I had totally missed it was Bank Monday and a holiday schedule. There were a couple of Swiss guys who were in the same predicament so we shared a taxi in to Piccadilly.

Old Trafford was my 35th league ground. The next day we were on route to Birmingham and #36 & #37.
