Game watched: Peterborough United 0-2 Crawley Town

Last game of the August 2013 tour with my daughter. We were staying in Sheffield for the night so we took the train down to Peterborough for the game around noon. At the River Nene we stopped for lunch. From there it was only five minutes to get to the stadium and buy tickets at the the ticket office.

Peterborough came into the game with a 100% record, Crawley had a point-per-game record. Darren Ferguson was in his second spell as manager at Peterborough so we completed a father-son double that week as we already had seen Alex Ferguson's team on Monday. John Alexander scored a glorious volley in the middle of the first half and followed it up in the second half with a one touch to score a double for Crawley Town. Britt Assambalonga came on as a sub in the second half, but could do nothing to prevent Peterborough's shock defeat.

My daughter met Miss Posh in the ladies toilet. Mr Posh was nowhere to be seen when I visited the gents. After the game we took the train back to Sheffield. The following morning we went to the Manchester Airport to fly home after an eventful week that had included five games and stadium tours of Anfield and St James Park.
