Game watched: Leicester City 4-1 Derby County

I had done work in London during the week and went up to Leicester for one night and the televised Derby game on Friday evening. Since I arrived early, I made sure to pick up my ticket and a programme in the Foxes shop in the afternoon and visit what remained of Filbert Street.

I had a great seat in the middle of the West Stand. Ritchie de Laet was a surprising first scorer in the first half. In the second, David Nugent scored a second and a third, from the penalty spot after Jamie Vardy was brought down. In between, de Laet had come in the way of a Derby header to make it 2-1. Nugent set up Jamie Vardy for a fourth Foxes goal.

At the end of the season, Leicester City were promoted to the PL and they haven't looked back since. I think I was fortunate to get to King Power when it was still easy to get a ticket there. It was my 40th league ground.
