Game watched: Crewe Alexandra 2-0 Fleetwood Town

This was the last game during the February 2015 tour. Alexandra Stadium was my 53rd league ground.

I had arrived the evening before staying at the Holiday Inn close to the station. I went quite early to the ticket office to get me a ticket in the huge Main Stand, where I assume 80% of the 4,000+ crowd sat during the game. After lunch and a couple of beers I came back to the stadium to watch the L1 game between Crewe and Fleetwood. Crewe started the game in 18th position and Fleetwood were just one point behind the playoff places.

Nicky Ajose scored for Crewe a few minutes before half-time and Marcus Haber, the Canadian striker I've seen at Stevenage some seasons earlier, made it 2-0 in the second half. I had expected more from Graham Alexander's Fleetwood, but on this day they just didn't have it. The result meant that Crewe after this game were just three points behind Fleetwood in the tight league table. PL referee Stuart Attwell was the man in charge.

After the game I went up to Manchester to fly home the following day.
