Game watched: Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Aston Villa

I had flown in to Heathrow the evening before. The plane was a bit delayed so I missed my intended connection at Victoria. The next train was cancelled so I was on the final train for the evening and it was packed. Somehow I lost my railcard and had to buy a new one the day after. To top it off, I managed to lock out the breakfast lady at the B&B where I was staying. I spent the Friday sightseeing around the pier area.

I haven't been to any other ground that has transport included in the ticket price. You take one of the trains that goes out to Falmer Stadium and that's what I did for this televised Friday match. At the ground, I remember enjoying a cheese burger since I hadn't had dinner.

After 20 minutes of the game, Nathan Baker headed in his first Villa goal from an Albert Adomah freekick. When people had started to move to the kiosks for half-time, Glenn Murray's long-range effort went in for 1-1. In the second half Aston Villa dominated, but Brighton held out for a point. It was the second time I saw the two managers Chris Hughton and Steve Bruce match against each other. Hughton got half a revenge for the loss at Hull three years earlier.

I assume more than 80% leave the ground by train so it took some time to get back to Brighton. The next morning I was up early to catch the 7.58 London train so I had to skip breakfast at the B&B.
