OldPaShrimper visited AMEX Community Stadium on 06/11/2012

Game watched: Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 Peterborough United

What an improvement on the Withdean!  The AmEx is good to look at, right next to a train station, reasonably served by the park & ride and serves locally produced pies (tasty) and hand pulled real ale at the concession stands (unique in my experience).  On the downside, it's the first time I've paid more than £3 for a programme at a league game.  The stadium itself has two good stands on either side of the pitch but surprisingly few seats behind the goals.  Brighton are already filling in the corners to increase capacity.  The game was a stalemate, enlivened for us only by the second half cameo of former Shrimper, Kane Ferdinand.  The deadlock was broken by the Seagulls in the dying moments to leave the home fans happy.  And why wouldn't they be in a stadium like this?
