Game watched: Cardiff City 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Arriving at the new Cardiff City Stadium, it was lovely to spot the old Ninian Park gates outside the ground and the memorial to Jock Stein who died there. The new stadium has recently been graced by statue of former captain Fred Keenor. Inside, we were greeted by live music and were able to watch live football and the FA Cup draw prior to kick off. The 1st Batallion Welsh Guards marched on their return from Afghanistan and were warmly received, most movingly in respect of those killed on active duty...  Sadly the game itself didn't live up to the build up, but a late Cardiff goal preserved the home side's 100% record on their own soil this season.
