obebloke visited Ricoh Arena on 26/02/2022

Game watched: Coventry 0-0 Preston North End

I travelled by train to Nuneaton then the 55 bus to the ground

there is a railway station that was built especially for the arena but it isnt  open .

there was an announcement that trains were going to start using the line again but be advised te rail companies have closed the station  before and after games as they cannot cope with passengers [only in England folks]

i couldnt see any opren pubs in Nuneaton and the arena being a new developement was not near any

i went in to the impressive looking sradium at 1400hrs

i was impressed by the range of food and drink on sale but they know how to charge £4 .70 a pint of Purity gold and about the same for a pie

as you would expect the views weree uncluttered and enough leg room

As for the game nothing much happened for 80 minutes until Prestons Liam Lindsay tackled a Sky Blues player in front of the Coventry bench queue to synchronised leaping up of trainers and coaches . Mr Stroud obliged by sending off the player.

Preston won the ball and a penalty with that Coventry were reduced to ten men

before the penalty we had to endure some idiot running onto the pitch evading the stewards until he has captured ,unfortunatley some othe village sent thier idiot to cavort onto the playing surface much to the amusement of a large number of Covenrty fans

The resulting penalty  finally dispatched

6 minutes of added time was added but the never consistant Mr Stroud allowed the game to continue into the 99th minute when Tavares produced a screamer to send the home fans wild

One last point I have never been to any match were the fans walk about so much . t hey were in and out of their seats all game . like being in a prostrate clinic

All in all a decent day out
