Game watched: Leicester City 2-1 Doncaster Rovers

Very friendly stadium. Once we got there, we showed our match day parking pass and were pointed to where we needed to go. The space was coned off, but a steward was keeping an eye out and quickly removed it.

The shop was well laid out, and staff were happy to show us where things were. There was a special accessible queue for wheelchair users leading to a lower counter, so I didn't have to try and get round the slalom of the other queues. The staff welcomed us to the King Power as we were checking out - not had that before when I've gone to a club shop on match day!

Once we'd bought our bits and programme, we went for a wander around the outside of the stadium. Busy fan park with assorted food trucks, a big family area, and a gospel choir! Everybody was welcoming to away fans in our experience. I also got a few approving looks from Leicester fans because I paid respect at the statue of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who died in a helicopter crash in 2018.

We got to meet Filbert Fox outside the club shop, and I was able to introduce him to the foxes in the away end - my plushies Imiko and Rei!

Eventually, it was time to go into the stadium. Again, we were called over to a fenced off bit, where a steward moved thee barrier so we could get in. After a quick search for both husband and me, and more fox appreciation, we were shown through to the concourse via the disabled turnstile.

There were lowered counters for food as well, so that was easy to do. The staff member took the lid off my husband's bottle of Pepsi Max, - no great surprise - but her supervisor quickly told her to put it back on, indicating me. This is an improvement on Spurs! We were able to have a laugh with the server and supervisor about managers - the supervisor wanted us to win so that Leicester would sack their manager - then headed towards our seats.

We asked an assistance team member where they were, then after jokes about how it was impossible to get lost in the stadium, he promptly got lost! He took us one way, looked puzzled, then realised that our seats were the other way! He accepted the slight teasing in the friendly way it was intended, making a joke of it himself.

My seat was right next to a steward seat, so I was worried about whether I would be able to see. When the match started, though, the steward immediately checked and said I could move to the empty wheelchair spaces on the other side of him if I wanted to. Offer accepted.

It was a good match, despite the result, and only stewards occasionally walked in front of us, which is a vast improvement. Usually, at half time and full time, pitch side fans can't see anything but people walking in front of them.

At the end of the match, a steward called me nearer to the front of the barrier so I could get a better view as Rovers came over to applaud the away fans. This was very much appreciated because the stewards were blocking the view a bit.

What surprised me even more after the match, though, was that random Leicester fans came over to wish us luck for the rest of the season and express their anticipation for the return fixture! Never had that before!

Overall, an excellent stadium for disability awareness and a very friendly stadium all round. I would be more than happy to go there again! Thanks for a great day (score notwithstanding), Leicester!
