Game watched: Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Leeds United
Drummer. Good atmosphere but the ground isn't in an ideal location and I was crushed on the tram on the way back to the train station. The stewarding was dreadful. I was on the third row of the top tier and the two rows in front of me were roped off. As the away end filled up before kick off, fans started coming up the stairs from the top tier saying there wasn't enough room in the bottom tier. The stewards wouldn't let them up at first but were eventually forced out the way by the Leeds fans who completely filled the two rows at the front of the top tier that had been roped off, which must be about 300 seats. Watching it back on the tv, there was space at the front of the bottom tier where it looked like these people could/should have been sitting so I'm not really sure what the problem was, but there was clearly something going on. It got a bit heated in the second half after a section of Shef W fans to our left started singing about Galatasaray. Leeds fans in both tiers swarmed towards that corner of the stand, and there was a lot of trouble that was almost completely glossed over on the TV, even though Beagrie and co were in a box in that corner and were watching it all unfold and ignoring the match. When we equalised, I ended up right at the front of the top tier up against the wall trying not to fall over the top. At least two people around me went over the top, thankfully the drop isn't too big but I couldn't see what happened to them. Meanwhile, Aaron Cawley ran onto the pitch and rubbed Kirkland's face, which should have been much less of a story than what went on in the stands. Spoke to my mate afterwards who was about 15 rows behind me and even he didn't see the Leeds fans go over the top of the tier, so I don't think many people know at all. Expecting a much smaller allocation than 5300 when we go back next year
