Game watched: Tranmere Rovers 1-2 Oxford United

Much like The County Ground, Swindon, I visited Prenton Park over 20 years ago.  Back in 1992 the stadium was a typical lower league ground with open terracing at each end.  A few years after my visit three of the stands were replaced, bringing the ground up to modern day standards.

As it happens this game was massive.  Oxford United, my hometown club, needed to win the game to remain in the football league.  They did just that.  A remarkable day's football.
