Game watched: Burnley 2-2 Celta Vigo

I was in Burnley for work for a few days, and saw that they had a pre-season friendly at home, so thought I'd pop along, especially at the bargain price of only £10 for a ticket. I got an entertaining game with plenty of chances, 4 goals, and some free-flowing football; and plenty of incident as well - I'm not convinced that Celta Vigo know the meaning of the term "friendly"!

Turf Moor is an old ground, which is clear from the outset as you approach it. Inside, two of the stands have supporting pillars, including the away end, so there will be some restricted views. I was sat in the James Hargreaves Stand, which is one of the more modern constructions, and the view I had from there was spot on.

There wasn't a lot of atmosphere to speak of, being a pre-season friendly, but when there was noise, you could tell that it would be quite imposing when full.

For me, the location is second only to Newcastle's St James Park. Turf Moor is only a few minutes walk from the town centre, so there are loads of pubs and eateries about in close proximity to the stadium. I've got no idea what the food is like inside the ground though as I didn't partake. Parking-wise, there is availability at the cricket ground next to the stadium, and town centre car parks are all nearby as well. There's also a fair amount of on-street parking close to the ground, so you shouldn't have any issues if you have the car.

All in all, I was pretty impressed!
