Game watched: Brighton 2-0 Cheltenham Town

Visited the Amex for the Capital One Cup 1st round match, and have to say, I was very impressed. It's a cracking, modern stadium, and I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. We were seated in the corner between the East and South stands, and the view was brilliant. The seats are padded too, and have plenty of leg room, so it's incredibly comfortable as well!

The stadium, like many modern grounds, is outside of Brighton itself, in the Falmer area. There is very little parking around the ground, but Falmer Station is literally right next to the stadium, so it's easy enough to get to. We parked at the station in Lewes and got the train in, which was £3.60 return and took less than 10 minutes. Plenty pubs to drink in in Lewes as well, which seemed like a nice wee place, so we had a couple of pre-match pints there.

The food at the ground was excellent - can't complain with a pulled pork bap at all! It wasn't the cheapest admittedly, but then where is these days? Unfortunately the crowd was very small (about 6,000) so I didn't get a true taste of the atmosphere, but you could still tell it would be fantastic when full and the fans were in full voice.  Tickets were only £12 for the game, so it was definitely value for money in terms of the ticket. There was also a lovely touch in the away end with Brighton having produced a load of posters thanking the Cheltenham fans for travelling the 300-mile round trip to the game and wishing us a safe journey home - fantastic stuff, and shows the club in a great light.

All in all, one of my favourite grounds I've visited so far. Highly recommended.
