Boxing Day is the football Christmas but it was a poor result for Salop in 2016! Very modern ground, away from the city centre in a retail park which highlights (like the New Meadow) the worrying takeover of modern, commercialised football. Impressive infrastructure seen from inside and out, but the high, curved roof means it is harder to create an atmosphere. Tickets very expensive as it was a Category A game for Boxing Day and it was bitterly cold but the ground itself is impressive, despite any real defining or iconic features to note.
