Game watched: Bury 2-2 Shrewsbury Town

Visited Gigg Lane twice: one Saturday and one Tuesday offering two very different atmosphere's and experiences. The 2015 2-2 draw (Saturday) was often intimidating, with a bold atmosphere bouncing between the 600 Salop fans and the home faithful. The ground was old, rustic with very, very limited concourse and toilet facilities but this inevitably offers a different flavour to other grounds! The pitch is also slightly above the level of the concourse which is interesting when watching the warm ups from 'ground level'. The Tuesday night in 2017 (which Salop lost 1-0) seemed very dead atmosphere wise with just 3,000 in the building (inc. 450 Salopians) as Bury were rock bottom and the pitch looked a state. The ground is slowly falling apart, but still offers the intriguing characters. The two different away days have been in either end of the ground, felt little difference between the two but prefer the first visit due to the heightened atmosphere and vibe of Gigg Lane.
