Game watched: Cardiff City 2-1 Portsmouth

We travelled to South Wales to watch a valiant Pompey team bow out of the Carabao Cup after extra-time. The atmosphere was poor, this may be expected to some people, being only a round one League Cup match, but even for that, it was dire and only a mere 5,000 or so Cardiff fans turned up in what I believe is a 33,000 seater stadium! The location of the stadium was decent, had enough room for parking, plenty of room to expand the ground and was located next door to a KFC and some superstores. The programme had a nice design, but as expected, was only a miniature version of what they would normally produce for a league game. The character of the stadium, being a modern bowl, was very poor. The only thing that bumped it up to the generous 1.5 stars was the new (ish) grandstand, which was a tier higher than the rest of the ground. The stewarding was top notch, we encountered friendly stewards outside the ground who were patting us down and searching our bags, who made our day a bit more enjoyable and bought laughter to the situation. Not only this but once inside the ground, the stewards were very helpful in directing us to our seats and also were more than happy to accommodate us empty seats in which we could hang our flag (which we ended up moving on to a railing above an entrance anyway). Oh, and the burger was really nice, would give that a 4 out of 5!
