Game watched: Reading 0-2 Swansea City

The Madejski was the nearest of the 92 to me that I hadn't yet ticked off, so I took the opportunity to head down to Reading for the Carabao Cup tie vs Swansea, taking full advantage of the reduced ticket price of £12. It's an easy ground to get to, located just off junction 11 of the M4, but parking is a bit of a nightmare. There is parking at the ground itself, but this is mainly for permit holders, and costs £10 for non-permit holders. On street parking is very limited close to the ground - don't park in retail or business parks close by as you'll end up with a parking ticket. In the end, I had to park at the Holiday Inn, which was also £10, and about a 10-minute walk to the ground.

The stadium itself is a nice, modern ground with good facilities, and as far as I could tell good sightlines from everywhere. I'd imagine a good atmosphere can be generated when full, but as it was under half-full when I visited, there was little to no atmosphere. Food was good - I got a good sized pie and a Bovril, which were both very nice. I didn't buy a programme, but plenty around me did, and it seemed good quality with plenty of pages.
