Game watched: Gillingham 0-1 Portsmouth

The atmosphere at Priestfield was dead for 98% of the game. The ground is very tight to nearby homes, much like Fratton Park but on each side of the stand in Gillingham’s case, which meant away fans had to walk 15 minutes to and from the train station, the nearest and safest place we could have possibly been dropped off. The home fans only started to “sing” or make any sort of noise when they won a corner or two up their end of the pitch nearest to the “ultras” end. I liked the ground, the main grandstand and the home end behind the goal were very smart, very different. I feel if the away end was designed similarly, rather than a roofless structure of scaffolding, the ground would be completed and look very smart! I enjoyed reading the programme and it too was a smart design. The burger meat was decent but there was too much bun compared to meat, which gave it a bland taste. Another good away day and another good win!
