Game watched: Accrington Stanley 1-0 Lincoln City

Accrington was a place I was looking forward to but was a really big let down.  On arrival by train we walked to the stadium which took approximately 20 minutes up a steep hill (going back down was a joy!!)

On arrival there was a fans zone but because of the capacity crowd, we could not get anywhere near the bar (in a reasonable time) so headed into the stadium.  The stewards assisted the entry and the lady on the turnstile was very nice, but that is where the fun finished!  Whilst Accrington are on the up they are at most a Village team and therefore the stadium lacks a lot.  The home supporters have a seated stand and a covered terrace, more than ample for their requirements.  The away stand was an open terrace which was poorly managed by the stewards.  We campaign for "Safe Standing" this was an example of why becuase with a child there was very little safe about the experience.  Facilities were very much lacking, in fact it took me back 3 decades when visiting the toilets!

Stewarding was only present in the away section, very limited in the home ends, something I just don't grasp why two sets of fans are treated so differently.

As Accrington had been promoted (congrats to them) the programme was a special edition and as such came at a bigger premium!!

Good look to them in League One, but if they stay longer than one season the ground will not be fit enough for purpose!
