Game watched: Everton 1-1 Southampton

Our visit was made thanks to Southampton and Virgin Media reducing tickets to just £10 for away fans!  Well Done them!

Travel to the game as has been most of the games this season has been by train.  There was a short walk from Kirkdale station of about 15 minutes to the ground.  Outside, Everton have done their best to make an old stadium look as good as it can.  The tight street setting means little can be done in the area to accomodate fans.  We found the superstore to be of good side and well stocked.

Entry to the ground was easy and the stewards were friendly and helpful.  Inside consourse was sufficient as were the facilities.  When we got to our seats, we found the stand floor was still wooden.  We managed to grab seats which had no restricted view, something that appeared to be impossible with the number of pillars around the ground!

An enjoyable occasion, but Everton are desperately in need of a new stadium fit for the 21st century!
