30th April 2001 Brighton 2-3 Huddersfield Town. Brighton twice went behind to goals from young Arsenal loanee Benik Afobe but Ashley Barnes and Matt Sparrow restored parity, however there was a late sting in the tail as Terriers sub Danny Ward hit a last minute winner. The result didn’t matter for the home side though as the League One Champions waved goodbye to the Withdean lifting the trophy.
