Sky Sports Super 6 Round 40

Aston Villa 1-0 Southampton

I’m torn on this one, Southampton have been very up and down over the last few months struggling for consistency and Villa’s home form in general has been awful. Both sides are missing key players; Benteke for Villa and Rodriguez possibly Boruc still for Saints. Regardless of form if memory serves me correct Saints have a terrible record at Villa Park and i’ll think the home side will sneak a 1-0 win.

Cardiff 2-2 Stoke correct result 2 points

Stoke have been one of the form sides in the league over the last couple of months and have surprised a few people on the road. Cardiff are still fighting for their lives and will be buoyed by an unexpected victory and clean sheet at St Marys. I think they’ll be goals – 2-2.

Newcastle 0-1 Swansea correct result 2 points

The magpies season is ending on a really sour note, since the victory at Hull they’ve picked up just one win in 6 and that was a late minute injury time winner against Palace. Swansea’s form since Gary Monk took over hasn’t been great but i fancy them to be able to sneak something for this game with a 1-0 away victory.

West Ham 1-1 Crystal Palace

With both teams tied on 37 points a victory will push either to the magic 40 point mark, although both are in effect already safe. Palace have really turned it round recently with 3 straight victories after a sticky patch of 5 games without a win which looked like sucking them back into the relegation battle. They don’t give a lot away at the back and i think they’ll leave the Boleyn with a point 1-1.

Barnsley 3-1 Leeds

Both teams have been unable to string a consistent run together recently, Barnsley are battling the drop and Leeds off the field problems are proving too bigger distraction. With passions running high in this Yorkshire derby i’m going left field and think the home side will gain a crucial 3-1 victory.

Watford 1-2 Ipswich

Ipswich have been quietly going about their business, picking up some crucial victories since the start of the new year and have a real chance of sneaking into the play offs. All bar a miraculous run Watford’s season seems over; i can see this being a close encounter that the tractor boys will sneak 2-1.
