Highbury, Piebury and the Emirates Stadium

Outside the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal

Blogger and the92.net co-founder Pete reviews his trip to the Capital to tick ground number 72 off his 92. Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium was the destination as Hull City revitalised under Marco Silva were the visitors. Ground: The Emirates Stadium (72/92) Game: Arsenal 2-0 Hull City Date: 11/02/2017 Journey South I set off on my journey south just after 8 in the morning. With the threat of poor weather conditions and a 12:30 kick off I wanted to make sure I got into London in time to soak up the pre-match atmosphere. Being an early kick off I think this worked… Read more »

Is the Emirates Stadium set to have a roof?

The Emirates Stadium Arsenal

Well a sunroof. Yes, that’s right. Gunner’s fan woke to the news that the club are planning to add a sunroof to the Emirates Stadium. In partnership with major French car manufacturer Citroen they are looking to harness technology from the C1 Airscape model to create the roof ready for launch on 1st April 2017. The canvas roof, in red of course, will open in a record 11 seconds plus be used to project message and replays. And that’s not all. Every game an Arsenal fan will be selected at random to choose whether the sunroof is open or closed…. Read more »

South Americans take over the Emirates Stadium!

Arsenal's Emirates Stadium

the92.net blogger and budding press snapper Dan White made his way to the Emirates stadium for a prize international friendly as Brazil continued their World Cup rebuilding against Chile. Ground: The Emirates Stadium 11/92 Game: Brazil 1-0 Chile Date: 29/03/2015 Thoughts on the ground: Getting tickets for an Arsenal game was a challenge. Trying to log on to the website, I found out you had to pay a membership fee just so you can get tickets before general release. This seems a bit steep especially considering how much they charge for tickets as it is. In the end I got… Read more »

Looking towards the Holte End at Villa Park

With the Premier League title in the bag for Chelsea the last remaining piece of Silverware up for grabs is the FA Cup, but where will it be heading? Arsenal are bidding to retain the trophy after overcoming Hull City in last years final. It they triumph again they will become the first side to win back-to-back since Chelsea 5 years ago and will also take their total haul of FA Cups to 12 and Arsene Wenger’s personal collection to 6. The Gunners go into the final in a fine vein of form not having lost in the Barclays Premier… Read more »

A Desmond at the Emirates Stadium!

The Emirates Stadium before the Premier League match between Arsenal and Hull City

Blogger Rob Tuffnell ticks off a second major ground in a week! This time making the journey down to the bright lights of London following Hull City for the away fixture against Arsenal. Ground: The Emirates Stadium 51/92 Game: Arsenal 2-2 Hull City Date: 18/10/2014 Thoughts on the ground: Fantastic ground; impressive from outside and in – lots of legroom and good views from the away end. Let down slightly by lack of atmosphere (I’m sure it can get noisy when the home fans get going though) and weirdly they seem to employ people to wave Arsenal flags behind each… Read more »

This Emirates Stadium: This is not my Beautiful House

Following Highbury topping the poll of our most missed Premier League ground, Arsenal fan Henry Cooke gives his thoughts on the Gunners move from Highbury to the Emirates It grates when I meet those who have met their soul-mate. I cast envious glances at other, more contented couples for I am destined to spend my days with my stunning but dead-eyed companion. Her tastes are refined, her curves are graceful, but I was happier with the girl next door. I was happier at Highbury. The Emirates Stadium never really stood a chance. As a child of N5, I would walk… Read more »
